Developing Learners’ Intercultural Communicative Competence through Online Exchanges: Case of Third-Year Students in Algeria

Foreign Language Education generally aims to produce intercultural speakers who develop relevant language skills necessary for communication and work. In fact, online exchanges provide an excellent opportunity enhance learners’ analytical critical thinking skills. They can enormously help awareness making them ready accept cultural differences. This paper examines the relevance of using virtual or exchange development in teaching learning, focusing principally on task categories use Information Communication Technologies, which has become everyday reality 21st century. It seeks answer following research questions: Do communicative competence? Are tools effective promoting learning processes? A student’s questionnaire semi-structured interviews with teachers are adopted as instruments collect data. The participants undergraduate third-year students EFL university from Department English at University Djillali Liabes Sidi Bel Abbes (Algeria). Findings showed positive feedback toward foster competencies. also revealed that know importance when issues. Thus, it is worth noting Technologies interactions contribute significantly creating spaces where learners, particularly tolerance, improve communication, promote knowledge besides becoming self-autonomous.
